Terms & conditions



  • The initial parent(s) only assessment session will be invoiced at the end of the session.
  • For all other sessions, an invoice will usually be issued at the end of the month. All invoices are to be settled within 10 days of the date of issue.
  • Fees: all sessions are £80 per session. Phone calls, letters/ reports/ travel/ meetings £60 per hour or pro rata.
  • Appointments are to be attended on time and consistently. Appointments which are cancelled with less than 7 days' notice or which are missed without notice will be charged at the full rate, unless there are circumstances deemed by the Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist to be exceptional.
  • If an appointment is cancelled by the parent(s) or young person aged 18-25 with more than a week's notice during term-time, the Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist will endeavour to offer an alternative time on the same day. If a mutually suitable time cannot be found, a £20 fee will be charged for the cancelled session.
  • Therapy sessions will usually take place during Oxfordshire Local Education Authority term-time, although there might be some exceptions. Family holidays should usually be taken within Oxfordshire Local Education Authority school holiday periods, or in line with your child, teenager or young adult’s school or university holiday or vacation dates. Arrangements for the long summer holiday break, when some sessions will occur, will be discussed in advance.
  • Therapy will not be terminated by the parent(s), young person aged 18-25, or Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist without 4-6 weeks’ prior notice, unless the Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist considers there to be exceptional circumstances.
  • Parent(s) will not leave their child or young person aged up to 16 unattended in the waiting room, will remain in the waiting room during the child or young person’s sessions where the child or teenager is aged up to and including 16, unless requested otherwise, and will collect their child or young person punctually at the end of sessions.
  • It is a condition of treatment that the child’s GP will be informed by the Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist at the end of the assessment when treatment begins, after regular six monthly reviews, in exceptional circumstances, and when therapy ends.
  • Court work will not be undertaken and court reports, legal reports, and court or legal letters or other such work will not be provided unless mandated by the police or courts.
